An excellent event well attended, but a few strange things:
old weight groups,
different elimination systems (8 competitors in each of the u40kg girls and u41kg boys but the former used a double elimination and the latter 2 pools and a cross-over),
six contest areas but only 2 used until very late on,
competitiors from the same club were put into the same pools
and poor interpretation of the new rules - the entry form said "no Sutemi Waza" (sacrifice throws) but Yoko Sutemi Waza was allowed.
BRONZE Georgina Davies
5th Place Demi Smith

Along with JR, Ashley McKenzie and Jerome Robinson-Reid were selected to represent Great Britain in this tough International.

He fought superbly defeating Kim (KOR) and Popov (RUS) before being caught by Azizov (AZE), the eventual gold medalist. In the repecharge he lost to Lambert (GER).
