Ashley was selected to represent Great Britain at this tough European event, used as a warm up for the World Championships by so many nations. Ashley looked unstoppable from the first second he stepped on to the mat. His true form was witnessed by all when he dispatched Olympic silver medallist Paischer in the second round. He went on to win the event in style, dealing with the quick-footed Swiss fighter in the final. On the back of this result Ashley has been selected to compete at the 2010 Senior World Championships in Tokyo.
